Wath New Inn 2002

WATH-upon-DEARNE

A photograph of the New In from 2002. This pub was always busy. Run efficiently way back by Peter and Shirley Cope, with dear old Mrs H behind the bar. There was plenty of live music in the best side from numerous local singer songwriters which made for a splendid atmosphere, especially at weekends.

I remember great times in the New Inn as a 20 year old. Great nights listening to Roy Unwin and singing The Boxer and some Dylan numbers and many other fantastic folk songs of the time. I also remember Peter Cope a good L Lord.
Im now a retired business man / Author of many novels residing in the far east.

I remember Peter very well. My recollection is that his wifes name was Sheila. Happy times, long ago.
